Reluctantly he handed over the key

I missed last week, nearly missed this week. Been busy with things going on with family, the days flying by so quickly that they seem to run together.

It's Wednesday again and all of us are here to try to help break up your work week. We get one prompt then all of us writers come up with a 100 word story. After reading mine head on over to the other blogs to see what everyone else came up with.

WonHundred Word Wednesday

This week's prompt is

Reluctantly he handed over the key

Twelve long, boring hours. Watching the world fly by through the window. I’d spent the last two hours talking in an attempt to keep him awake.

A large yawn escaped him as he pulled into a rest area right before the Kansas Turnpike. Stretching never felt so good. In all my fourteen years I don’t think I’d ever sat still for so long.

“Alright.” Reluctantly he handed over the key, excitedly I climbed behind the wheel. Twelve long hours of driving across the country with my grandpa led to my first time ever behind the wheel.

Now you can check out all the other stories.

  1. If he's never driven before I have the feeling grandpa will be very awake shortly.

  3. That's great--grandpa's tired after only 2 hours! It would have been a very loooong trip!
