WonHundred Word Wednesday "No matter what you hear, no matter how badly you want to, do NOT open your eyes."

In case you are new here, every week a group of us get the same prompt and we get to come up with a story with only 100 words. It is really fun. Normally, I forget about it until late Tuesday night but not this week!

I asked my son what to write about this week. That is how my story came to be. This week's prompt is....

His little eyes were squeezed shut so tightly that when he finally opened them he would probably need time to refocus. Everything around him was louder than normal, every tiny noise sounded like it was going through a megaphone.

“No matter what you hear, no matter how badly you want to, do NOT open your eyes.” Those were the last words spoken to him before his older brother left him here all alone.

One blue eye peeked open, then the other. “Ready or not here I come!” He spun around to look for his brother and friends.

Now go see what everyone else came up with.

  2. I like the sentence about him probably needing to refocus when he opened his eyes. That's a nice detail!
